Changes to the Assessment of Premium Rates and Industry Classification: Loading and Appeal Policy

Following a round table discussion with senior underwriters in June 2022, the WorkCover WA Board has approved a change to the Assessment of Premium Rates and Industry Classification: Loading and Appeal Policy, effective 1 July 2022.

This policy informs and guides insurers, employers and employer representatives of the policies and processes WorkCover WA applies to approve or review workers’ compensation insurance premiums.

To support a fair and transparent appeal process, a change has been made to section 30 d, with an inclusion of item (iv) The Board will only consider information which was known to all parties at the time a loading application is made. This does not preclude the clarification of claim and payment data.
