Costs Determination for the Workers’ Compensation Conciliation and Arbitration Service
The Workers’ Compensation (Legal Profession and Registered Agents) Costs Determination 2018 (the Costs Determination) was recently published in the Government Gazette and comes into operation on 1 January 2019. The Costs Determination governs the awarding of legal costs and agent services in the Workers’ Compensation Conciliation and Arbitration Services.
The Costs Determination was made by the Costs Committee, established under section 269 of the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981, and was approved by the Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Energy; Industrial Relations.
The Costs Committee resolved to only make minor amendments to the Costs Determination, primarily to provide clarity and to fix anomalies.
