COVID-19 CAS Services Update

Arbitration

Arbitration services are continuing to operate. New applications for arbitration and/or documents in relation to existing matters can be lodged in hard copy whilst postal and courier services remain operational or by fax. The Registrar Arbitration has issued ‘Practice Note 4 – Lodging by Fax – Variation to Rule 10’ which increases the page limit on faxed documents to 40 pages. Practice Note 4 can be accessed via this link.

Settlements

The Director Conciliation has issued a ‘Notice from Director – Lodging Memoranda of Agreement by Email: Temporary Waiver of Requirement to Produce Original for Inspection’. The Notice permits parties to submit MOA documents in PDF format electronically via email to conciliation@workcover.wa.gov.au for the period of the State of Emergency which was declared in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Notice can be accessed via this link.

Please note that processing times for documents lodged with the Conciliation and Arbitration Service may be impacted by the working from home arrangements in place at WorkCover WA in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Further information about conciliation and arbitration services will be provided on the WorkCover WA website as the situation changes.
