Insurer and Self-Insurer Principles and Standards of Practice – Consultation period

WorkCover WA has conducted a review of the range of regulatory instruments used to monitor insurer and self-insurer performance in the WA workers’ compensation scheme.

The review targeted performance in key areas of claims management, underwriting and administrative practice with the aim of developing clear, consistent, accessible and enforceable regulatory expectations.

The draft Insurer and Self-Insurer Principles and Standards of Practice have been developed in initial consultation with a Reference Group of stakeholder representatives.

WorkCover WA now invites stakeholders to be part of the next stage of consultation and provide input into finalising the Insurer and Self-Insurer Principles and Standards of Practice, which will take effect from 1 July 2020.

Feedback can be sent to Stephen Psaila-Savona, General Manager Regulatory Services at communications@workcover.wa.gov.au by close of business Friday 20 March 2020.
