New WorkCover WA Board member

WorkCover WA is pleased to welcome Mr Richard Sellers to its Board, following his appointment as Director General of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety on 31 May 2021.

Mr Sellers replaces Mr David Smith who has been a valuable Board member since July 2017. WorkCover WA recognises and acknowledges the outstanding contribution Mr Smith has made to WorkCover WA and the Western Australian workers’ compensation scheme, during his time on the Board.

Mr Sellers has an extensive background in the public sector and has worked in a number of senior roles, including Acting Director General of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Tourism WA, Director General of the Department of Transport, Commissioner for Main Roads WA, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Transport Authority and Director General of the Department of Mines and Petroleum.
