Practice Note – Consent orders seeking adjournment or re-listing of hearings

Pursuant to s 294(4) of the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981, the Registrar of the Workers’ Compensation Arbitration Service has the power to issue arbitration practice notes. The purpose of issuing practice notes is part of the WCAS’s continuing efforts to improve the efficiency, consistency and functioning of the Service.

The Registrar has issued a new Practice Note today, which will take effect immediately. This Practice Note sets out the expectations of the Arbitration Service in relation to applications for consent orders seeking to vacate or re-list hearings before the Arbitration Service and how the Registrar and Arbitrators may deal with such applications.

All Practice Notes and the Standard Orders can be found here.
