Regulation amendment – declaration by interstate and overseas workers

New arrangements relating to interstate and overseas workers come into effect on 17 October 2016.

Workers receiving workers’ compensation and residing outside of Western Australia must send to their employer or employer’s insurer a declaration every 3 months.

The declaration provides proof of identity and incapacity for work, and requires important information from both the worker and medical practitioner.

Regulatory amendments have changed the declaration form and clarified aspects of the declaration process and timeframes.

An Info Sheet provides further information for workers and medical practitioners about the declaration requirements.
