Return to work: employer guide

In May 2017, WorkCover WA launched four short animated educational videos focused on educating scheme participants about injury management, and includes a video specific to the employers’ role in the return to work process.

Staying at or returning to work is an important part of an injured worker’s recovery and the employer plays a pivotal role in this process.

The ‘Return to work – employer guide’ video can be viewed here and outlines how an employer can communicate and collaborate with the worker and the doctor to achieve a successful return to work outcome.

Our video explains the three steps in the ‘Return to Work’ process:

  • preparing the workplace for your worker’s return
  • setting the return to work goal, and
  • identifying suitable duties

This video is supported by the ‘Information for Employers: Supporting your worker to return to work’ fact sheet.
