Transitional Directions

WorkCover WA has finalised and published 10 Transitional Directions relating to the status of pending matters in the transition from the 1981 Act to the 2023 Act.

These Transitional Directions address matters such as the status of pending premium appeals, pending dispute proceedings, and corresponding and modified provisions for compensation caps, the definition of a worker, and permanent impairment assessment.

We have also published 55 Information Sheets to provide stakeholders with general information on the new Act. These Information Sheets should be used alongside the existing Explanatory Guides and Blueprints on key scheme changes.

As we inch closer to the 1 July implementation date, we remain committed to providing our stakeholders with up-to-date information on pivotal changes in the 2023 Act, and strategies to navigate the upcoming transition to this new legislation.
