Workplace Rehabilitation Providers and Principles and Standards – Launch Event

On Thursday 29 July, WorkCover WA hosted a successful event at Fraser’s Restaurant in Kings Park, for the official launch of the Workplace Rehabilitation Providers Principles and Standards of Practice (Principles and Standards).

The Principles and Standards provide clear service expectations for delivering workplace rehabilitation services and are designed to make a significant impact to workers returning to work following a workplace injury.

Over 200 guests were in attendance, including WorkCover WA Board members, Reference Group members, Workplace Rehabilitation Providers, Insurers, Self-insurers and Brokers.

Guests were joined by Work Cover WA CEO, Mr Chris White, who provided an informative update on the workers’ compensation and injury management scheme.

Following this, Ms Loan Tang, President of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association, and Mr Noel Catchpole, Chair of the Insurance Council of Australia (WA), joined Mr White in a Q&A panel to discuss how the Principles and Standards will help to shape future outcomes for injured workers returning to the workplace.

The event concluded with a networking opportunity for those who wished to speak with WorkCover WA staff and industry colleagues.

Stakeholders are encouraged to download a copy of the Principles and Standards from the WorkCover WA website and watch our Conversation Series videos for more information.
